Breeder???

We have a problem, there is a breeder over here that is dying with cancer. She has 120 puppies that need to find homes. There are 6 Pomeranians and 114 Australian Shepherds. If you can help us find rescues to take them we would sure appreciate it. If you get this today before 4 PM call the Suwannee County Animal Shelter at 386-208-0072 or call tomorrow after 10 AM. They wouldn't give me this ladies information so it will have to go through them.

My response:
Why does one person have 114 Aussie Shepards?

Not to give you a hard time -- you are only trying to help. This is just such a double-sided sick situation. 120 puppies to one "breeder?" Nauseating.

Melanoma

The turn out for the event was only 1/2 of what we expected and a mere 75 screenings took place.

Out of 75 screenings, 2 people were found to have melanoma.

I was a bit shocked by this, almost as much as I am shocked by the number of people I continue to meet in my daily life who have been affected by the disease. I am now controlling the MySpace page for WSCF and invited the marketing girl from the company whose website we most recently finished. Turns out her mother-in-law died from melanoma in 2004.

If you spend a lot of time in the outdoors, please get screened regularly. Also, please feel free to pass along the following info or make a donation if you believe in the cause. Monies raised go to funding for events like The Celebrity Softball Game and The Sean Slater Surfing Invitational so the foundation can raise awareness and have doctors on hand not only at these events but at similar events around the world.

Justin kicks ass.

finally

The majority of preferred photos from the Wright-Wood wedding are now available at this link.

There are many here who have at least twice the photography experience that I do...if you want to alter any photos, please feel free. My only requirement is that you forward a copy to me at kateflack@gmail.com. I will waive all copyright fees. ;p

This shall remain a never-ending project, one that I will endlessly learn from. I love my little Margie and I feel privileged to have been asked to document one of the most memorable days of her life despite my experience. I learned volumes from this endeavor and continue to do so in the editing process. Unfortunately, I ran out of time a week ago so please feel free to be as creative as you wish with anything here. Again...please just send me a copy so I can continue to learn from it!

If anyone wishes for the high-res unedited version of any photo herewithin, please send me the edited version and I will reciprocate with the original.

I love you, Margie. Thanks for letting me play such a big role in such a big event in your life. :)

i still have 4x this many photos...margie, i will furnish you at some point with an flash card with all files.

also...

i briefly mentioned daisy's (aka [info]darkfaeryqueen) mad skills at design. she did margie's wedding dress. for those into corsetry, costumes and just plain awesomeness, check out her website at faerie-queen.com.

her costumes are amazing (not to mention that coat i must someday have).

[info]the_dooz, you definitely need to check her out and exchange faery design ideas!

for the record...

this pic says so much about saturday morning.

here is jorelle on the morn of margie's wedding. when all the other bridesmaids were primping, she was running around making sure tables, flowers, chairs, dj's, etc. were all in place. i think all the other girls were in full make-up and dress and she was still running around in her superman tank overseeing the production.

even when she was finally dressed, i had a hell of a time keeping all the girls together for pre-wedding photos because she was still running around all over the place making sure everything was perfect.

and it was.

Big Pimpin'

Many months ago, I took notice of a photographer in the LJ community [info]photographers by the name of Kyle Cassidy. His photos were either of people with guns or his handsome kitties and I was too intrigued by the combination not to dig deeper. After peering into his public LJ and discovering he advocates kitty rescue, I simply had to add him.

Turns out his stunning girlfriend Trillian is a great friend of [info]daphnep and I believe she has met the handsome Roswell Kitty. It's no surprise that [info]retromorphosis has met Kyle Cassidy and says he's just as cool in real life if not more so.

His book entitled "Armed America: Portraits of Gun Owners in Their Homes" is a "Best 100 Books" of Amazon.com for 2007. He is #61 to be exact. I haven't seen the book itself but I have seen many of the photographs within via his LJ, [info]kylecassidy and trust me...the book is on my list. :)

This seems to be a perfect summary from what I've seen:

If you want a daily dose of guns, cats and vegetarian goodness with a sprinkle of pretty...add him. I don't think any of you will regret it.
